I was asked the other day, 'How can you believe, In a God you cannot see or touch or hear?', And I stumbled over words that just, Could not explain my heart, And I lost the chance to guide a friend, Into HIS loving arms. So I'm sitting here tonight, Trying to find the words, To explain the reasons that I know, God Is, So that next time that I see him, I can go to him and say, 'This is why I Can Believe':

Chorus I: I see God's love, Each time I see my children smile, I feel Him touch, My heart with peace and joy, I hear His voice, gently telling me, 'My child, You're welcome here', Because of this, I can believe.

So I say to you my friend, I'll pray for you each day, That you'll come to know this love and happiness, Even though you may not see Him, I know God believes in you, And I hope that you, Will one day say, 'My God I can believe!':
